Victorian Parliamentary Friends of Landcare - Environmental Volunteer Showcase

Hosted by the Victorian Parliamentary Friends of Landcare and supported by Landcare Victoria Inc and Victorian Environmental Friends Network, this event gives landcare groups/networks and other environmental volunteering organisations the opportunity to bring their work to Parliament House.

The two-day showcase will be held in the Queen’s Hall at Parliament House on Wednesday, 17 and Thursday, 18 June. Present your on-ground works and demonstrate the benefits of community led on-ground action and talk to politicians about the issues that matter to you.

Please read the information on the event page carefully before registering. If you have any questions about the registration process, contact Sarah Vella [email protected] or 03 9034 1943. You must register to attend this event. For security purposes, we are required to provide a list of attendees to the venue in advance, so please register by 5pm Monday, 8 June. Places are limited.

When: Wednesday, 17 and Thursday, 18 June (11am to 2pm each day)

2026 NRCT Victorian Landcare Forum

The Victorian Landcare Forum is back in 2026 and will be held on 31 August to 2 September at the Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham. Save the date now for an event that will bring together the landcare community to celebrate 40 years of landcare.

The 2026 Landcare Victoria Inc Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday, 20 May. The Landcare Victoria Annual Report has been released and is now available to download

 


Webinar: Partnerships that work - tackling pests and weeds together

It takes a village to create real change. When it comes to managing pests and weeds, strong partnerships and collective action are key. This webinar showcased collaborative approaches from landcare groups that have successfully worked with communities, government and non-government organisations to tackle shared pest and weed challenges.  

Speakers included:

Sea Spurge biocontrol project launch webinar

This webinar introduced Australia’s new community‑led sea spurge biocontrol program and highlight the important partnership between CSIRO and Landcare Victoria in delivering it.

The webinar: 

  • Introduced the sea spurge biocontrol project
  • Explained sea spurge impacts on coastal environments
  • Provided an overview of the biocontrol fungus and how it works
  • Outlined how Landcare and community groups can get involved
  • Explained the EOI process Provide an opportunity to ask questions

Landscape Action Plan Handbook Launch

Landcare Victoria is proud to present the Landscape Action Plan Handbook. The Handbook is a culmination of the three-year New Futures for Victorian Landcare Project and presents the key principles and steps that landcare organisations can undertake to develop a Landscape Action Plan for their area. Carbon Farming Outreach Program

Our Carbon Farming Outreach Program has wrapped up. The program aimed to assist Victorian farmers to understand their emissions and the benefits of carbon farming. Working together with Agriculture Victoria and the ten regional Catchment Management Authorities, this program delivered training in local areas tailored to audiences.
