Renew your membership of Landcare Victoria

Membership of Landcare Victoria gives your environmental volunteer organisation access to Landcare Victoria’s services and contributes to the strong foundation community landcare needs to grow and thrive in Victoria. Only financial, full members are eligible to receive the benefits of membership, including cover by the Landcare Victoria member insurance package, so it is important to renew your membership in a timely manner each year.

Plese note, if your organisation is not already a member (financial or non-financial) of Landcare Victoria, it must first register using the process outlined here. If you're unsure, please contact us to check your membership status.

The membership renewal process

Membership of Landcare Victoria is renewed annually on 1 July each year. Prior to renewal, each member organisation must check and update its information (such as contact information) and provide its latest annual financial figures to Landcare Victoria, which are necessary for us to determine each group's membership and insurance fees and obtain insurance cover on behalf of our members.

1. Complete the annual Membership Renewal Census. Data provided by your organisation is checked and combined with the data from all other members and provided to our insurer to ensure appropriate cover is arranged for the association in the coming year. Please keep an eye on your inbox after submitting your census in case we have any follow-up queries!

2. Look out for an invoice in June if you’re the sole contact for your organisation or let your nominated Billing Contact know to expect it.

3. Pay your fees in full by 1 July each year to ensure your membership and insurance cover is always active.

The 2026 Membership Renewal Census must be completed by all members wishing to renew their membership for the 2026/27 year. Members are sent their organisation's unique census link and access information by email when the form opens each year. If you're a nominated Main Contact and unable to locate your 2026 Census link and username, please contact us.

2026 Census Overview

New to the Census? Check out this brief overview to find out how the form is structured and accessed, and the sort of information your organisation will be asked to provide to facilitate your membership renewal with Landcare Victoria Inc.

Membership fees

Membership and insurance fees are calculated based on each organisation's reported total annual expenditure in the specified recent complete financial year. For the 2026/27 membership year, fees are based on each member's 2024/25 financials. 2025/26 figures are not used as this financial year is still in progress for most organisations at the time they must report to Landcare Victoria via the census.

The new 2026/27 membership fee structure is as follows:

Member's annual
expenditure
(2024/25)
Landcare Victoria
Membership tier
Annual membership
fee (2026/27)
(inc. GST)
 $0 - $2,499  1  $390
 $2,500 - $19,999  2  $650
 $20,000 - $99,999  3 $950
 $100,000 - $499,999  4 $2,300
 $500,000 +  5 $3,100

It is recommended that all eligible organisations apply for the Victorian Government's $500 Support Grants (part of the Victorian Landcare Grants program) which are available via your region's Catchment Management Authority (CMA) each year, along with any similar grants offered by your local Shire/Council to assist with covering operational costs. To keep up to date with relevant grant opportunities and ensure you don't miss out, contact us to request to subscribe to our newsletter, follow Landcare Victoria on social media, and ensure you're on the mailing list for your CMA, local council and any nearby landcare networks.

If your organisation is unable to pay its annual fees in full at renewal time, you may request a 6-month membership to see the group through from 1 July until 31 December, providing more time for your group to raise funds to cover the second half of the membership period. To request the 6-month membership option, please contact us.
