New Futures Round 2 Pilot Landscapes selected

Following the recent Expression of Interest process and interviews with prospective Landcare Networks, we have selected the Round 2 pilot landscapes for the New Futures for Victorian Landcare project for 2025.

Congratulations to Heytesbury District Landcare Network and the Kiewa Catchment Landcare Groups & Wodonga Urban Landcare Network collective!

Heytesbury District Landcare Network is located inland from Port Campbell within the Corangamite CMA region, nestled between the ‘12 Apostles shipwreck coast’ and the peaks and lakes of the Victorian volcanic plains. The Network is looking forward to exploring investment in biodiversity strategies and piloting education/planning activities on commercial dairy farms to achieve a sustainable, healthy landscape which protects their natural environment in the context of thriving communities and livelihoods.

The Kiewa Catchment Landcare Groups & Wodonga Urban Landcare Network collective includes the Kiewa Catchment area and the urban and peri-urban centre of Wodonga. The landscape is linked from the alp headwaters, to the Murray River confluence at Wodonga in the North East CMA region. The collective is looking to create an integrated landscape action and investment plan that unites rural and urban communities in protecting and enhancing the Kiewa Valley's natural assets, agricultural economic viability, and cultural heritage through collaborative action, sustainable practices, and innovative partnerships.

We look forward to a process of discovery with these two pilot landscapes in 2025.

The New Futures Project is funded by The Ian Potter Foundation and Natural Resources Conservation Trust.
