Renew your group's membership of Landcare Victoria

Membership of Landcare Victoria gives your group access to Landcare Victoria’s services and contributes to the strong foundation community landcare needs grow and thrive in Victoria. Only financial Member Groups are eligible to receive the benefits of membership, including cover by the Landcare Victoria insurance package, so it is important to renew your membership in a timely manner each year.

Plese note, if your group is not already a Member Group of Landcare Victoria, it must first register using the process outlined here. If you're unsure, please contact us to check your group's membership status.

The membership renewal process

Membership of Landcare Victoria is renewed annually on 1 July each year. Prior to renewal, each Member Group must check and update its information (such as contact information) and provide its latest annual financial figures to Landcare Victoria, which are necessary for us to determine each group's membership and insurance fees and obtain insurance cover on behalf of our Member Groups.

1. Complete the annual Membership Renewal Census, conducted between February and April each year. Data provided by your organisation is checked and combined with the data from all other Member Groups and provided to our insurer to ensure appropriate cover is arranged for the association in the coming year. Please keep an eye on your inbox after submitting your census in case we have any follow-up queries!

2. Look out for an invoice in June if you’re the sole contact for your organisation, or let your Billing Contact know to expect it.

3. Pay your fees in full by 1 July 2024 to ensure your membership and insurance is active from 1 July onwards.

The 2024 Membership Renewal Census is now open and must be completed by all Member Groups wishing to renew their membership for the 2024/25 year.

Membership fees

Membership and insurance fees are calculated based on each group's reported annual expenditure in the specified recent financial year (completed prior to commencement of the membership renewal period). For the 2024/25 membership year, fees are based on each Member Group's 2022/23 financials, as the 2023/24 financial year is still in progress for most organisations at the time financials must be reported to Landcare Victoria.

The 2024/25 membership fee structure and further details about how membership fees are utilised by Landcare Victoria in support of its members may be found in the 2024/25 Membership Renewal Bulletin.

It is recommended that all groups apply for the Victorian Government's $500 Support Grants (part of the Victorian Landcare Grants program) which are available via your region's Catchment Management Authority (CMA) each year, along with any similar grants offered by your local Shire/Council to assist with group operational costs. To keep up to date with relevant grant opportunities and ensure you don't miss out, please subscribe to our newsletter or follow Landcare Victoria on social media.

If your group is unable to pay its annual fees in full at renewal time, you may request a 6-month membership to see the group through from 1 July until 31 December, providing more time for your group to raise funds to cover its fees from 1 January to 30 June. If your group wishes to request the 6-month membership option, please contact us.
